About

It took 40 minutes to get a client with late-stage cancer comfortable on my table set up in her bedroom. With lots of pillows and breath work, we were able to get the session under way. She fell asleep and woke up an hour later. She hopped off the table and danced down the hall, to her husband’s surprise.

Reiki may not cure cancer or make our lives stress-free, but it offers an opportunity to be present and accepting at various stages of life. Let’s connect at: info@equilibriumreiki.com and discuss how I can serve you or someone you love. Thanks for visiting my website, Anne.

Equilibrium:
Finding Balance with Reiki

Since opening Equilibrium in 2006, I have been serving clients in Southern Maine and Seacoast New Hampshire at my York, Maine, reiki room.

I have also traveled to treat clients in Hospice, hospitals, retreats for the bereaved and performed countless long-distance reiki sessions.

While home visits and treatments in my Reiki room were the mainstay early on, it was not until the pandemic that most of my clients were willing to discover that hands-on and remote sessions offer equal benefits.

This enabled me to serve people when they were in vulnerable and precarious moments, whether they were sick in bed or cramming for an exam, in the midst of a hospital emergency or managing a home with four children and full-time job.

I have sent long-distance reiki to clients as they attended divorce and child custody hearings in court, as they sat vigil with a family member dying, or as they were undergoing surgery.

One client with Rheumatoid arthritis regularly had severely swollen and painful wrists, making daily living quite challenging. A Reiki session would offer inflammatory relief and ease so driving to the next card game, dealing and shuffling the cards was a breeze.

One client reported that long-distance Reiki during her monthly chemotherapy helped her trust that she was healing her cancer, cope with the side effects and receive much needed comfort.

Distance
Reiki

Equilibrium: Finding Balance with Reiki

Reiki is a form of energy healing that can be administered remotely, across the miles to anyone on Earth.

Long distance Reiki is as effective as in-person Reiki and is used to address stress, trauma, grief, depression and chronic pain.

When scheduling a remote Reiki appointment, please reserve at least an hour to rest comfortably in your own home to receive the treatment. We will connect to check in on how you are feeling at the appointed time, either by phone, email or text, depending on what works best. And again we will reach out to let you know the session is complete. Please remember, it's important to hydrate, every day, and when receiving a treatment, especially. We look forward to serving you.

Ancient Japanese Healing Art
Soothes Body, Mind and Spirit

Reiki is a simple, loving way to heal yourself and others. It is divine grace meant for anyone who is open to receiving it, providing healing on a physical, mental, emotional and spiritual level.

Reiki, pronounced Ray-Kee, is a Japanese term that means “spiritually guided life force energy,” the vital energy that flows through every living thing. Reiki is also used to describe the natural healing method rediscovered in the 19th Century by Mikao Usui.

All healers use universal life force energy. In China, they call it chi. In India, they call it prana. In Japan it is Ki, the basis for the word Reiki. But all healers do not use Reiki, a healing life force that can be transmitted only by someone who has been attuned to it.

The attunements, or initiations, are an integral part of becoming a Reiki practitioner because they clear obstructions and open the body’s energy channels, intensifying and refining that innate healing ability we are all born with. The attunement process opens the crown, heart, third eye, throat and palm chakras and creates a link between the student and the Reiki source.

While everything alive has Ki, the Reiki attunement boosts the connection to this limitless source, described by many as the one great Creative Force in the universe: God or Goddess. Other terms used are Higher Self, the First Source or the Universe. Whatever
the source of Reiki is called, Reiki is not affiliated with any
religion. This energy is the source of life and unrelated to any particular philosophy.

Actually, the laying on of hands on human or animal bodies to comfort and relieve pain is a basic instinct. When our children seem ill, first we touch their heads to see if they are feverish. Similarly, when someone falls and gets hurt, we quickly feel the injury. Our human touch reveals love and warmth and caring, as does the animal touch of licking, so often performed by animals on their needy young.

Ki is the essential life force of all the planets, stars and the heavens. All of these sources of the energy affect the human body’s Ki, which is electrical in nature and determines the physical body’s state of health.

In a Reiki session, clients remain clothed while lying on a massage table. Soothing music is often played and recipients can expect to have their energetic systems cleansed. For those clients who request not to be touched, the entire treatment can be accomplished with the Reiki practitioner’s hands three or four inches above the body. Long-distance Reiki works equally as well as in-person Reiki because everything is energy. The more Reiki treatments a client receives, the deeper the healing.
